Senior President - Anthony Simmons

Simmo has been involved with LFNC for the past 40 years. Starting at the club in 1978, he played in the Under 12’s and continued through to the U18’s. In 1986, he progressed to the Senior ranks and played in the Reserves 1986 and 1988 Premiership teams. He Captained the Reserves in 1991 and 1992, continuing to play football until retiring in 1995 and receiving Playing Life Membership. While playing, in 1989, he became a committee member and served another year. He then progressed to the coaching ranks and was an assistant coach and team manager to the U 14’s in 1991. In 1992 he was the U 10 Asst coach and 1993 U 16 Asst Coach and Team Manager. In 2004, Simmo continued his voluntary association with the club working in the Outside Bar. He progressed to the Inside Bar and then Bar Manager. He rejoined the committee and continued as Bar Manager until 2014 when he was elected President of the club, a position he’s held to the present day. Simmo is also a member of the “Brains Trust” the group of loyal supporters who stand near our coaches box at each home game and are not backward in expressing their views on coaching moves, umpiring decisions and whose turn it is to go to the outside bar to get the next shout! Simmo was awarded Life Membership of the LFNC in 2018. There is no doubt that Simmo loves the Lilydale Football and Netball Club and shows a fantastic example of what our club culture is –COMMUNITY, SUCCESS AND RESPECT.
